If we were having coffee…

If we were having coffee I’d be complaining that it’s not cold enough here to be fall. I want to knit for winter, but can’t bring myself to knit because it’s not fall weather yet. 😭

If we were having coffee we’d be calmly hanging out in my living room. It’s a lazy day. Even with the caffeine I’ve got no energy, and no desire to get energy. The whole week has been go go go and I’m very happy to be lazy. Except that I’m hungry and don’t want to get off the couch to cook. So you’re totally going to bring over some food, right?

If we were having coffee I’d ask how your week was. I feel like I’ve been too trapped in mine and have ignored you. I don’t want to ignore you, you are all so special to me. So comment on your week, good or bad, I want to hear from you. 💕💕💕

If we were having coffee…

If we were having coffee we would most likely be drinking juice as well. I want the caffeine, the break from dreams and confused exhaustion, but I also want juice. Juice tastes good.

If we were having coffee I would apologize for being gone so much. Life is hectic with kids activities, volunteer activities, and more. Beyond that is sleep issues that can’t decide which issue they want to be on any given day, and constant fear and sadness over a friend still on suicide watch.

If we were having coffee I would cheer us all up as I showed you the bizarre dance my son created this week. Think young Elvis Presley, drunk, high, and attempting baton twirling. That’s really the best I can describe it 😂. We also would chat over other fun things from the week. I got to hang out with a friend I haven’t seen for a while and it could not have been more perfect together time. I also got a kitten that is currently sleeping next to me, and thankfully not on my keyboard as she was earlier.

If we were having coffee I would ask you what your favorite moment from the week was. I’d love to hear from you!

If we were having coffee…

If we were having coffee we’d be in my living room listening to music and drinking peppermint mochas. I’d tell you how excited I am to be making zucchini bread with the kiddos tomorrow. I don’t bake nearly as often as I should and zucchini bread sounds soooo good right now.

If we were having coffee we’d leave politics and debates outside. Not because I don’t appreciate your views, but because there is a time and place. Coffee chats is not the time. We would instead talk about the shows we are binge watching and laugh at what happened in the latest episode. I’m going through old shows and movies from my childhood and teanage years on Netflix right now and it is so much fun!

If we were having coffee we’d play music, do face masks, and maybe throw in an old favorite movie to watch together. I have Ms Congeniality in the player right now, we could totally enjoy that. We’d hang out and giggle and leave the past week in the past. A fresh week is starting and I can’t wait to see what joy it will bring us. Be open to blessing this week, look for them. I will to.

Emotions are high

Emotions are high today for everyone. Regardless of how you voted or why it is a day of stress as so many of us go through our day with lack of sleep and strong emotions. So today I ask one thing of you, relax your shoulders. Right now, really, just knowingly relax your shoulders. Feel better? A little easier to breath? I hope so.

No matter the choices you made regarding this election, I appreciate you and your time spent thinking and making those decisions. I want you to go through your day at peace knowing that you matter and that your choices matter. And every time your emotions begin to take over again, relax. Allow yourself a pause to breath and lower those shoulders. You deserve that pause and so much more.
Namaste 🙏

If we were having coffee…

If we were having coffee we’d be sitting at Starbucks and I’d be drinking an iced caramel macchiato with an extra shot of espresso. It’s a warm day and something iced and refreshing (and highly caffeinated) sounds amazing. We would sit and people watch, this location has a nice mix of joggers needing a pick me up and college students studying. I love seeing the dedication of both groups, their hard work is inspiring.

If we were having coffee I’d tell you that my husband has been sick all week and how it breaks my heart to see him like this. I usually like to hide at home on the weekends, but some fresh air sounds nice today after a packed week of taking care of kids and hubby. I don’t always realize how much I rely on him, but this week it has been painfully obvious. Not that I’m complaining, I’d rather have the extra stress than the nasty bug that he’s got.

If we were having coffee we’d walk from Starbucks to the park across the street and enjoy the sun. I’d ask how your week was. We’d chat and laugh and sit under my favorite tree by the pond. The tree that’s close enough to the pond to feel that I’m truly at the park, close enough to the parking lot to feel that I can easily leave, and far enough from other people that we can talk in semi-private. We’d watch the ducks wander by and the kids on the other side playing on the playground.

If we were having coffee we’d make a whole morning of it and just relax and have fun, cause you know what? We totally deserve it! So enjoy the coffee, and the ducks, and I’ll chat with you again soon. 😘
